I'm a writer and editor based in Chicago. I come from the south, where I studied programming and film at the University of Oklahoma before heading to DePaul University to get my master's degree in media studies (focused on queer studies and multimedia adaptation). Whether it's popular or deeply weird, I'm on it.
I've written about film, TV, books, and video games for outlets like The Guardian, The A.V. Club, Los Angeles Times, The Hollywood Reporter, Playboy, Vanity Fair, Interview Magazine, Forbes, The Outline, and RogerEbert.com. I’ve also covered conventions (New York Comic Con, San Diego Comic-Con, C2E2), sets (AMC’s The Terror, Amazon’s Utopia), and film festivals (Tribeca, Los Cabos, CIFF, Ebertfest). Starting with San Diego Comic-Con 2020, I began moderating panels featuring filmmakers and actors like John Rhys-Davies, Stephen Moyer, and Casper Van Dien. My first short fiction was published in the collection Curtains in 2021.
My previous roles in the industry include years spent writing news and features for SYFY WIRE and reviewing TV for Paste Magazine. Now, I’m both Paste’s Movies Editor and Film Editor of The A.V. Club. Below you can find samples of my work, but if you'd like to see all of it, you can find it here.
